Joyce Tenneson

I discovered the work of Joyce Tenneson in 2002 and she's still one of the photographer I like the most.
I wanted to introduce her to you with the set called "Wise Women" :

I grow more intense as I age, and I am more passionate about the projects I believe in. I still enjoy getting dressed elegantly in the evening and making an “entrance” at a party.

—Brooke Astor, 98

"Being in opera is my life. I've played Madame Butterfly more times than almost anyone else alive, the story continues to absorb me. Tragic, poignant love will always fascinate and touch people."

—Licia Albanese, age 88

The most important thing is to try and enjoy life—because you never know when it will be gone. If you wake up in the morning and you have a choice between doing the laundry and taking a walk in the park, go for the walk. You’d hate to die and realize you had spent your last day doing the laundry!

People often stop me now and tell me I’m beautiful. I never had this happen when I was younger. So for me aging has, at least on the surface, made others interested in me and who I am.

Marla Singer

Marla Singer, the character of the movie Fight Club, is definitely one my favourite style icon. Not only that Helena Bonham Carter is perfect in the role and very sexy, but she's the true rebel of the movie. She's a real punk, but with no political connotations. She's a life-warrior and a dreamer.
Listen to her speakin' about vintage :

Here's the full dialog (the most interesting part is missing in the video):

Marla: I got this dress at a thrift store for $1.

Jack: It was worth every penny.

Marla: It’s a bridesmaid’s dress. Someone loved it intensely for one day. Then tossed it, like a Christmas tree. So special. Then bam! It’s on the side of the road. Tinsel still clinging to it. Like a sex crime victim. Underwear inside out. Bound with electrical tape.

Jack: Well then, it suits you

Sequin bullet bra

Sometimes you're so lucky, you can't believe it. I found this vintage bra on Ebay, right in my size! I don't know who's got the genius idea to put sequins on a bullet bra, but I want to kiss him. I love it!!!
